Karibuni Rough Collies of the 1980's

The Karibuni Rough Collie site is an informative site about my small specialist kennel of Rough Collies (‘Lassie’ dogs to the uninitiated), established in 1978 and situated near Cambridge, England. I am a member of the Kennel Club's
Assured Breeder Scheme and represent the Kennel Club as the ABS Regional Breeder Adviser for East Anglia.

I take great pride in producing  beautiful and elegant 'proper Collies' that adapt easily both to the show ring and the hearth-rug!
Karibuni Rough Collies excel in temperament and longevity, and conform to the correct Breed Standard particularly in relation to size and correct body-fitting coats. Karibuni Collies are 'fit for function, fit for life' so, with health in mind, all breeding stock is:

  •  Eye tested for Collie Eye Anomaly (CEA) at 7 weeks of age (KC/BVA scheme)
  •  DNA tested for CEA/CH
  •  Eye tested for Progressive Retinal Atrophy (PRA) at one year of age (KC/BVA scheme)

and annually thereafter as required by the KC ABS scheme (see above)
  •  DNA tested for PRA rcd2
  •  X-rayed for Hip Dysplasia (HD) at one year of age (KC/BVA scheme)
  •  Microchipped for permanent identification prior to sale
  •  DNA tested for multi-drug sensitivity (MDR1)

'Karibuni' is also the home of the best-selling, definitive history book of the Rough Collie

We suggest you order quickly as there are now only limited numbers available for sale!
